Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger is one of the most respected football managers in the world today. He has been at the helm for arsenal for the past 10 years. He is a firm believer of "beautiful football" that we get to hear these days. He thinks that he can make his team play like Barcelona.

His frustration was clearly seen when he accused Aston Villa for playing the long ball game. He thinks that only his side plays in a manner which is pleasing to any football lover.

For him, the manner in which they play is more important than winning. Yes I know sportsman spirit etc. is all there but what matters in this competitive world is the number of trophies you win and sadly Arsenal are not winning any.

One may argue that this is the same manager who has won many laurels for them in the past but one must also see the team he had at his disposal back then. The likes of Henry, Bergkamp, Ljunberg etc. they were masters. The current team is very young and inexperienced and they have only Cesc to rely upon since Van Persie is out injured.

Arsene needs to spend this summer if they have to compete with the big boys...

Best football league in the world...

This season the English Premier League seems 2 b d most open league. At least the top 5-6 teams can still think of winning the title whereas in the other leagues by this time at most there will b 2 or 3 contenders. Also the relegation battle is also heating up. The difference between 10th and 20th position team is just 7 points. That is the beauty f English football where no team can be taken lightly... Hail FA!!!

Irony of the Malayali calendar

In Malayali calendar today is 4th of Chingam: a happy new year 1185! No wonder some can't enter the 21st century -- we're stuck in the 12th!

LOL!!!

SRK detained at d Newark Airport

SRK detained? OMG dont these guys know who Shah Rukh is? have they gone crazy? This was the most common reaction after the news broke about him being detained for 2 hours.

If we see from the point of view of that security official the person is just another South Asian guy who wants to enter USA. It is his job to interrogate each and every person they feel may be compromising America's security.

SRK rightly said that the issue is being completely blown out of proportions. Whether he meant it or not I dont know. But in the press conference he held at Mannat after returning from the US he was so precise in answering all those questions put forth by the media. The one answer I really loved was... "I dont want to seem pompous but Shah Rukh Khan does not need publicity stunts to stay in the limelight" after being asked whether he was doing this to promote his movie My Name Is Khan which has a similar theme.

For many of us in India, it is a status symbol if you are being allowed to pass through any security checks whereas in America they dont give a damn who you are.

We Indians also need to adopt such strict measures at all places to ensure the security of the citizens. One must remember that on adopting such stringent measures there have been no terrorist attacks on America after 9/11.

APJ Abdul Kalam was frisked by United Airlines officials which was totally uncalled for as he is a former president.

One thing that the Americans can do is become a bit less paranoid and as SRK said "upgrade their system" so that the names of innocent people dont pop up on their computers.

I just dont understand the psyche of the Pakistanis. For them Jamaat -ud - Dawa is a charity organisation!!!!

I was readin this news in the Pakistani daily Dawn where this organisation is termed as a charity organisation.

I think this is hw they deviate young ppls mind to fighting for d so called "jihad"

For them d banning of this outfit is incorrect & was done jus coz of pressure frm d UNSC.

I can pray jus 1 thng....
